Episode 127: Is Going Plant Based Possible as a Mother? with Rachael Brown

Hey Mamas!

In this episode we talk with Rachael Brown about her book, For Fork's Sake, which shares her journey of how she learned to heal herself and the planet through a plant-based way of eating. We discuss how plant based can actually help with your grocery budget and be a lot easier to maintain then you may think for you and your family as a busy mom.

She ultimately wanted to create an easy to consume guide so that you can feel educated and empowered to start a WFPBNO (whole food, plant based, no oil) way of eating or what she likes to call a HAPPY (healthy and plant powered yay!) way of fueling our bodies.

My favorite part is when we talk about how cheese actually has addictive properties and the research that is continuing to be be done on consuming animal byproducts. Also, how doctors and other providers may not be sharing this information simply because the lack of nutrition classes that are needed in the medical field.

Ultimately I believe in food freedom and choosing what we want to eat and I do believe this is what Rachel and her family are doing. She has educated herself and made the choice that she and her family have seen to have benefits.

If you are having health issues food and nutrition does have the ability to help you along your healing journey. When your health is on the line it’s worth it to take a look the relationship you have with food and ask if it is serving you or harming you. Maybe this book and the wisdom Rachael has uncovered is the answer to your healing journey.
